Nick Ervinck's solo exhibition opened at the National Gallery of Finland

We are very proud to announce that our gallery artist Nick Ervinck’s solo exhibition entitled GNI-RImay2021 has opened at the National Gallery of Finland.

Nick Ervick, an award-winning Belgian contemporary artist is known for his colorful 3D printed sculptural works. In fact, is one of the pioneers of using 3D printing methods and technology in the arts. Fascinated by new technologies overall, Nick uses a variety of non-traditional materials including polyester, poolyurethane or painted plaster.

NIck’s works are informed and inspired by a variety of sources from biology and anatomy through Rorschach inkblots, Start Trek and manga.

The exhibition comprises 50 works that found their perfect location at the 13th century Medieval castle. The juxtaposition between the period combat armor and Nick’s cyborg epitomizes the exposure’s byline The Future Meets the Middle Ages. A new commission included in the exhibition has been placed in the castle’s courtyard and and its bell tower.

In light of the exhibition that is on view at the Hame Castle, our gallery is featuring a large number of works featured in an online presentation on Artsy platform until the end of November, 2021.

This online “reflection” was conceived as a way to enable art collectors and general public an opportunity to learn about and explore Nick’s oeuvre in detail at their leisure from the comfort of their homes. We hope that global audiences appreciate being able to explore despite the current persistent travel restrictions.
